About Me

me1My name is Gabrielle Dunn and I am a journalist living in Boston. I’m currently a junior at Emerson College, majoring in print and multimedia journalism and working at The Boston Globe on weekends. In December, I completed a six-month internship at the Globe, which I am currently continuing part-time.

While I was at the Globe full-time, I covered breaking news, city crime, fires and general assignments. I also enterprised long-term stories, including an A1 above-the-fold story on the economy’s effect on sentimental collectors and a Metro story on how a fire-fighting hero’s death affected a small Cape town.

I am also managing editor for Emerson’s independent student newspaper, The Berkeley Beacon. I am currently working on an investigative series for the paper on the college’s troubled history with institutional racism in terms of multicultural tenure-track professors. The series, on its fifth installment, has been picked up by Boston Magazine’s Daily Blog and twice by Randy Prince‘s Journal-isms.

In the past, I have worked as an editorial assistant, general assignment reporting intern and copy editor for The South Florida Sun-Sentinel, South Florida Parenting Magazine, Forum Publishing Group and The Tribune Company.
